Armenian British Business Chamber (ABBC)

The official opening ceremony of theArmenian-British Business Chamber (ABBC) took place in Yerevan on June 3. Chairman of the Armenian-British Connect and member of ABBC Board Hayk Harutyunyan said that the idea on ABBC establishment aroused one year ago, and due to huge efforts of allies its registration in Yerevan became possible.“The Chamber will serve as a multifunctional platform for the British and international business, as well as it will facilitate the Armenian-British business and economic ties,” Harutyunyan said.ABBC was established by 14 members – Armenian and British companies operating in Armenia.

According to Harutyunyan, the Chamber will represent interests of its members in both Armenian and British governmental structures. “Though the bilateral relations are limited currently, there are sound grounds for their further development,” he stressed, adding that ABBC activity will be aimed also at stimulating international investment programs in Armenia.
In his turn, UK Ambassador to Armenia Charles Lonsdale noted that ABBC will allow its participants to learn more about Armenia and will provide needed information and support.
